A dedicated skin consultant has been assigned to the West Ham United women’s football team to offer insight and expertise into caring for their skin when exposed to the elements and long workouts.

Dr Raul Cetto, founder of Clinic 1.6, uses the ZO Skin Health range; products formulated and developed by practicing dermatologist, Dr Zein Obagi, to create and maintain healthy skin for life. Dr Raul will be using the range to target and prevent skincare issues the team members may suffer as a consequence of prolonged exposure to UV radiation and pollution during outdoor training sessions and matches.

A spokesperson for the brand comments: “ZO Skin Health believes that practicing sports and spending time outside in the city provides a wealth of incredible health benefits, however it also increases the skin’s exposure to weather extremes, UV damage and pollution.

This increased risk faced by the players inspired ZO Skin Health to take a proactive approach in ensuring player’s skin health can be maintained on and off the pitch. The appointment of Dr Cetto comes following the successful partnership between ZO Skin Health and the West Ham United women’s team that begin in April 2019, when the skincare brand was announced as the official team sponsor, and continues to be the shirt sponsor for the team.”

Jack Sullivan, West Ham United women’s MD, expresses his delight at the partnership, revealing: “ZO Skin Health has displayed a genuine passion for encouraging growth in women’s football. It is committed to providing the best skincare solutions for all skin types to enable girls and women alike to have complete confidence.”
