Treatwell is taking action to support the hair and beauty industry in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with a number of initiatives.
A petition has been launched by the beauty booking platform to lobby the UK government for an economic hardship relief package to help the industry recover from the effects of the outbreak .
The petition is now live – sign it by clicking here.
“Our industry is already suffering disproportionately,” states a spokesperson for Treatwell. “As a business in this industry – and partner to 25,000 small to medium-sized businesses across Europe – we are doing all we can to support salons and professionals, as well as protecting the safety of customers, in the UK and beyond.
“We have, and will continue to, introduce a number of initiatives to support salons through this difficult time. We’re collaborating with others who feel passionately about this too across the entire industry.”
Treatwell has also created a Facebook community group for hair and beauty professionals to seek answers from Treatwell partners, including experts from its finance, marketing, HR and legal teams.
Join the Facebook group by clicking here.
The group is open to everyone – both Treatwell partners and the wider industry. Members are invited to connect, ask for advice and speak with others in the same position.
In addition, Treatwell will be supporting salons with training sessions, online workshops and webinars, with the aim to provide them with the skills to rebuild brands and businesses when the situation improves.
It is also waiving its monthly fee for April for all Treatwell partners, as well as refunding the fee already paid for March.
“We know that cash flow is a concern for many businesses right now and are grateful we can do our part to remove a cost,” states a spokesperson.
“Our rescheduling and cancellation policies have also been updated to ensure customers have the flexibility to move appointments should they be unwell or self-isolating.
“We’re encouraging customers to reschedule their appointments, as opposed to cancelling, but maintain that the health and safety of our customers and partners is of paramount importance.”
