Having achieved recognition in the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards 2023 for three years in a row, Titanic Spa has been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best Sustainable Spa category.

Based in West Yorkshire, eco-spa Titanic Spa scooped the award in 2021 and achieved ‘Highly Commended’ in 2022, before securing its spot for the third year running, showcasing its efforts with green initiatives and investments to create a beautiful yet sustainable and practical spa environment.

Some of the spa’s sustainability efforts include generating its own renewable energy generation through solar photovoltaic roof panels and utilising its own natural water source from when the building was an Edwardian textile mill with fresh drinking and bathing water for the plunge pool, swimming pool, showers, and ice experience at Titanic Spa.

There is also a ban on single-use plastics on site, offering biodegradable straws made from seashells, using recycled paper in small batches, and having energy efficient lighting in the salon. Titanic Spa also offers food with locally sourced, in-season organic and fair-trade ingredients. The spa is also working towards being carbon neutral.

Managing director at Titanic Spa, Warrick Burton, comments: “We are extremely proud to have been highly commended for our sustainability in the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards, being recognised for the third year running!

“This national acknowledgment holds huge significance, as it brings awareness on the importance of sustainability and how essential it is for our future, as well as for future generations. We at Titanic Spa hope this encourages other businesses to become more mindful on the impact they are having on the planet.”
