The Great Scratch Shoot Out 2019: The results

Nina Lewis has scooped first place in Scratch’s annual photographic competition.

After a recording breaking amount of entries of 127 this year, the top three and winner of the new Voter’s Choice award were revealed live at Olympia Beauty.

  • 1st – Nina Lewis
  • 2nd – Agnes Dullo
  • 3rd – Ilona Vasiliauskiene
  • Voter’s Choice – April Wellington

“It has been an amazing year for the competition,” reveals organiser, Kat Hill. “The competition was harder to judge than ever with the standard of entry at an all time high.

“The moment the judging panel saw Nina’s image, we were all captivated. The entry was praised for its striking and high-fashion feel. Simple yet perfectly executed, the nails play an important part in the image’s story.

“Congratulations to Nina, Agnes, Ilona and April – and to every single competitor, too.

“Thank you all for another incredible competition this year!”

The judging panel scored the entries, but looking at a criteria including originality and execution of concept, instant impact, clarity of the photograph and nails, use of colour and lighting, nail finish and design, model choice and styling. With the score accumulated, the top three entries can be unveiled.

The top entries each received a cash prize and certificate at Olympia Beauty, with the winner scooping a trophy, supersized print of their image and feature in Scratch.
