Health and wellbeing brand, Gear Hungry, has analysed Google Trend data and predicted the biggest wellness trends for 2020.

Gear Hungry also teamed up with its own health and wellness coach, Daniel Mason, to provide the need-to-know information on each of the trends.

CBD Skincare: a 367% rise in searches
Scratch looked into the trend of CBD beauty as it dominated product trends for most of this year (click here for all you need to know about the CBD buzz), however it looks like it shows no sign of slowing down and that its popularity is only set to grow further in 2020.

Sound Bath Healing: a 285% rise in searches
“People often think that sound baths are a little off the beaten track if they are seeking a therapy to calm the mind,” says Daniel Mason. “However, sound baths ignite the alpha and beta brainwaves. Alpha waves are known to increase creativity and suppress depression. Theta brainwaves occur mostly when we are asleep and are the brain’s doorway to learning and memory. In my opinion, the popularity of sound baths is only set to rise and receive the same growth as the like of yoga and mindfulness.”

Virtual Wellness: a 242% rise in searches
“With the rise of flexible working hours, people want their workout to be available at their beck and call and aligned with the flexibility of their everyday routines,” says Daniel Mason. “The likes of interactive mirrors can be costly, however they provide flexibility in their offering as they showcase everything from yoga, boxing and barre to cardio bootcamps.

“Virtual wellness opens the gates for consistent wellness from within the home as well as a medium to obtain a hit of endorphins 24/7.”

Breathing Apps: a 219% rise in searches
Practicing a range of breathing practices can calm the mind, ignite concentration and increase positivity while also helping to increase breathing capacity and release tension from the spine. Guided breathing apps make this mindfulness technique accessible whenever and wherever.

Wellness Retreats: a 182% rise in searches
Many are seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of 21st century living, as wellness retreats are becoming more popular – and not just with celebrities. Wellness retreats can help teach how to incorporate self care into daily life and offer activities such as yoga, therapy or coaching and meditation in a peaceful, secluded setting.
