Swarovski Workshop

Angel Crystals, a UK distributor of Swarovski nail crystals, invited a select group of techs to a fun-filled workshop at which they jazzed up their nails with Swarovski embellishments.

Scratch‘s editor-in-chief, Alex, joined me for the trip to Swarovski’s London HQ, at which we were met by Antony Arnold of Angel Crystals.

Passing grand displays of crystallised bags, jewellery and ornaments, we were seated in a board room with seven talented nail techs, each sporting long, sculpted nails. Following a presentation that briefly detailed Swarovski’s history and Austrian heritage, we were shown predictions for 2019 nail trends, including the reverse French, nail jewellery, patterns, fruit and floral nail art and embellishments.

Recapping on Swarovski’s nail launches; from CrystalPixie in 2015 to extending colour crystal options in 2017 and launching Tiny Treasures in 2018, techs were then let loose on the vast range of nail art embellishments. They first created a design on one of their own nails, before taking turns applying various shapes to the nails of each other.

Alex and I, admittedly not overly creative or trained professionals, enjoyed admiring the techs at work – and Alex selected a few stones in Scratch‘s signature pink hue to adhere to Antony’s nails for fun.

What resulted were seven techs with stunning, crystal embellished nails – and a desire for more time to play!
