St Moriz has partnered with St Helen’s Hospital in Lancashire for a third consecutive year, promoting safe tanning in the skin cancer ward over sun awareness week (6th – 12th May, 2019).

Each year, St Moriz provides support and guidance on the ward to cancer patients, friends, family and staff, offering advice on self tanning products as a safe and sensible alternative to sun beds and unprotected sunbathing.

“We are very grateful for the regular supply of St Moriz sachets,” says Karen Pocock, skin cancer nurse specialist and St Helen’s Hospital and Knowsley NHS Trust. “These are used for our skin cancer health promotional events which we hold throughout the year at a variety of locations.

“An excellent uptake also come from the local students, drawing attention to our promotional work of Skin Cancer Awareness and at the Health Work and Wellbeing department and GUM clinic for when they hold promotional events. Without the kind donations of St Moriz, our health promotional service would not be as successful as it is.”

Fiona Lazenby, commercial director at St Moriz, says, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with St Helen’s Hospital as well as extend into additional hospitals this year. We are eager to promote self-tanning as safe tanning, educating people on how sunless tanning sprays and lotions can make your skin look tanned without exposing it to the sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation.”

For 2019, St Moriz is taking the ‘Tan Safely With St Moriz’ initiative further afield with the introduction of a new partnership in Ireland, with the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. St Moriz will be working with the doctors, nurses and hospital to promote safer tanning.
