Salon Services Charity

Sally Salon Services has supported three charities this year by donating money raised through customer donations and in-store events.

The beauty and hair product supplier raised £30,000 in total for The Little Princess Trust, which it has supported since 2013. This charity provides real hair wigs free of charge to children experiencing hair loss due to cancer and other conditions.

In July, a month of fundraising was held in HQ and across Sally Salon Services stores in the UK and Ireland. Efforts included charity bake sales, sponsored Sienna X tanning treatments and selling charity wristbands in-store, which was supported by L’Oréal Professional.

Partners in progress

Earlier this year, Sally Salon Services revealed a new partnership with In Kind Direct, which distributes consumer goods donated by UK manufacturers and retailers to charities working in the UK and overseas.

The organisation helps ensure that everyone has access to life’s essentials and that no usable products go to waste. So far this year, Sally Salon Services has donated over £40,000 worth of mixed beauty products such as shampoo, conditioner, foundation and hair rollers — and will continue to donate in 2019.

“Product donations from companies like Sally Salon Services have a huge impact — with 70% of people who have received goods in the past saying they helped them to provide essential support to people who are struggling to afford basic supplies,” comments James Williams, deputy CEO of In Kind Direct

Spreading the word

The Hairdressers’ Charity was Salon Services’ second new partner organisation of 2018. It is the official charity for the hairdressing industry and provides financial assistance and support for hairdressers who have fallen on hard times.

December will be dedicated to fundraising for The Hairdressers’ Charity across the network of over 260 Salon Services & Sally Beauty stores and HQ.

“While fundraising is invaluable, we also place a lot of emphasis on helping to spread the word about the different charities that we support — so those in need can take advantage of the help available to them,” comments Olivier Badezet, CEO Sally Europe said. “We are delighted to extend our ongoing support to these three amazing charities and our commitment to helping others look and feel great.”
