Two beauty professionals have joined forces for an uplifting merchandise venture designed to promote positivity.
Owner of Lunula Nails & Beauty, Derby, Alicia Clough and salon manager, Lizzie Cawdron, launched Project Positivity in January after the salon closed its doors again in line with restrictions.
“We both believe that a simple positive affirmation can really change your day and that there isn’t enough affirmation apparel out there,” the pair states.
“When lockdown first started, we both used to send each other daily affirmations as little pick-me-up and to keep us going while not able to work. We then started buying each other little gifts with quotes on, such as note books and jewellery, as little surprises and saw how it cheered us both up.
“We would often joke about how we would love to have our own website and sell our own affirmation merchandise to put smiles on other peoples faces.
“This was a running joke for a few months and it got to the point where we said ‘lets just do it’ and start the new year with a bang!”
Five t-shirt designs are currently available, featuring different positive affirmations. The designs are printed on an organic, ethical, climate neutral and PETA-approved vegan t-shirt. Phrases include: ‘I am enough’, ‘Bad vibes don’t go with my outfit’, ‘Positive AF’, ‘Live more worry less’ and ‘Focus on the good’.
The positive postcard bundle includes four affirmation postcards, which can be sent on to a friend, used as a personal pick-me-up or framed as décor in the salon.
“We are both excited about the brand and can’t wait to keep growing it,” smile the pair. “We are currently writing up positive content for our new blog posts and creating great content for our followers on social media.
“We are currently planning the rest of our merchandise for the rest of the year, including the usual seasonal drops and a few special things in and around those.
“We are currently working on two launches at the minute, one being for mothers day and one for spring/summer.”
“We love creating our own apparel; the t-shirts are just the beginning. We can’t wait for more people to hear about our exciting project and for the support on our socials to keep growing for anyone that needs that sprinkle of positivity in their life,” the duo state.
