Revealed: The top UK cities to launch a beauty business

While the past few years have been challenging for firms across the UK, it looks like business has fought back, with the beauty sector thriving in particular.
8,436 beauty and hairdressing businesses were opened in the UK in 2021.
With the UK seeing a 21% increase in the number of new companies started in 2021 compared to 2020, office advisory service, Instant Offices, has analysed Companies House data to learn which UK locations have seen the biggest business boom.
It analysed the population to startup ratio across top UK cities to discover which saw the highest concentration of entrepreneurs in the last year.
While entrepreneurship – particularly in the beauty sector – increased across every location analysed, the data revealed the best cities for those looking to start a new business.
The cities are:

- Manchester
- Liverpool
- Glasgow
- Bradford
- Sheffield
