Pinterest has revealed its annual Pinterest 100 report, which sees a variety of trend predictions for 2019 identified by the social media platform. Including beauty and lifestyle forecasts, the report reveals an insight into consumer browsing habits on the social media platform.

The almond nail shape also appeared in the report, with searches for ‘almond nails’ up 97% for the rounded shape as pictured above.

The dip system has grown in popularity with users on Pinterest, with searches for the term ‘powder dip nails’ up a huge 442%.

“2019 is about mixing natural styles with pows of gloss and colours,” states Pinterest. “And women from all different cultures, with all different skin tones, are coming to Pinterest to find ideas to try.

“The way we know an idea is trending is by looking at what people are searching for. If an idea keeps getting more and more searches each month? And that upward trajectory holds steady for 6+ months? That’s how we know it’s a trend.”

The platform also revealed users had been searching for natural lash enhancers, with searches for natural lash lifts up 52%.

Other predicted beauty trends included in the report include standout lip colour, glossy makeup, as well as natural ingredients including witch hazel (up by 305%).
