Social media platform, Pinterest has revealed its annual trend report for 2025, Pinterest Predicts.
We’ve rounded up the 10 key trends set to dominate the nail world in 2025…
1. Cherry Coded
With searches for ‘cherry vibe’ increasing by 325%, the cherry-red hue is set to dominate nail requests in the coming seasons. The search term ‘dark cherry red’ has proved particularly popular, with a search increase of 235%, boasting pins of burgundy clothes, accessories and, of course, nails.

2. Aura Beauty
Coined by Pinterest as ‘the make-up mood ring,’ aura beauty is all about honing in on a colour, and wearing it with confidence. Aura effects, in particular, have been booming within the nail industry. Clients have been requesting two-toned gradient manicures requiring stippling techniques and airbrush tools for that sought-after, seamless ombré finish.

3. Rococo Revival
This ultra-feminine trend encapsulates all things frills, pearls, and pretty finishes, inspired by the Rococo era. This boasted opulent, classic corsets and luxe accessories, which have influenced the nail industry which is seeing a boom in bow nail art and pearl decals that add an elegant touch to manicures.

4. Sea Witchery
‘Sea-inspired nail’ searches have increased by 65%, with clients embracing 3D shell effects, starfish characters and mermaid-inspired decals, often sculpted using sculpting gel products.
Nail industry maestro, influencer and Scratch Stars Services to the Nail Industry Award recipient 2024, Kirsty Meakin, has partnered up with Pinterest to create two nail looks inspired by the trend: a ‘good sea witch’ and a ‘bad sea witch’ manicure.

5. Castlecore
Medieval influences on beauty choices have even reached celebrities, with the likes of singer, Chappell Roan, flaunting a metallic, chained manicure by celeb nail tech, Juan Alvear. Paying homage to the décor of ancient castles and knightly, gothic aesthetics, this trend is all about incorporating metals, chains, and royal elements into aesthetic choices, creating a bold fusion of the past and present.
6. Dolled Up
Enter the dollhouse with this cutesy trend, seeing searches for terms such as ‘cute core room ideas’, ‘mini things’ and ‘necklace charms’ increase rapidly. The nail industry has also be influenced, with a surge in 3D embellishments such as charms, bows and gems, all helping to create the playful, doll-like look. Because what is more fun than playing dress up?
7. Fisherman Aesthetic
Can we get you hooked on this, rather unique, trend? 2025 is looking like the year of nautical influences. We’re talking all things, cable jumpers (+110% in searches), sardine embellishments, fish bags (+50%) and stripes – and why should you leave out your nails?
8. Goddess Complex
Pinterest predicts ‘goddess nails’ to be a hot topic in 2025, seeing an increase of a whopping 760% searches. ‘Goddess core’ (+40%) is the umbrella term for the aesthetic, also promoting complementary beauty choices such as ‘goddess twist braids’ (+60%) and ‘divine beauty’ (+30%) choices. 9. Seeing Double
2025 is all about coordinating with your loved ones. From ‘the same but different’ outfits to matching manicures, Pinterest users are focusing on their personal connections to inspire beauty choices. The search term ‘friends matching nails’ has risen by 35%, and ‘matching outfits for couples casual’ is up by 90%, so expect client pairs to come in seeking the same look. Described by Pinterest as ‘your avatar aesthetic,’ this trend is all about how Gen Z and Gen X are embracing the idea that their bodies are like online personas—ones you can chop, change, and experiment with! From changing your hair colour to opting for vibrant, playful manicures that switch up every few weeks, to even choosing what clothes to adorn yourself in, this trend is set to be a hit!
