Do you offer exemplary treatments & great customer care? See if you could be recognised with a PHAB Service Star, an accolade launched by Nergish Wadia-Austin, esteemed international business management training & beauty industry consultant.
“The PHAB Service Stars initiative gives salon, spa and barbering professionals elevated status and a measurable benchmark for their performance,” Nergish explains. “It helps the consumer to identify the best practitioners nearest to them.”
Currently only available for application by nail technicians, beauty therapists, hairdressers, barbers and colourists, you can apply for a PHAB Service Star by sharing some key performance indicators about your business practices. Further requirements include customer testimonials, management support, and mystery shopping.
“As we are now in a recession, customers will want to spend their limited resources on quality services. Since the industry has no mandatory regulations, I felt the only way to help the quality, qualified professionals, was to recognise and promote their hard work, thereby driving business to their columns,” Nergish continues. “In phase one we are launching to the industry and in phase two, we will go to the consumer press to them know why they should seek out PHAB Service Star holders.”
Nergish’s experience has led her to discover that, when trained, industry pros delivered a better quality of service to customers, which in turn saw more clients attracted to that business and word of mouth spread.
“That is when I realised that great quality of work, coupled with superior service, really ought to be recognised and rewarded in our industry,” Nergish continues.
“I am proud to say that the PHAB Service Stars is the first performance based award in our industry overseen by industry experts. “There is mandatory regulation in many countries, but exceptional performance, quality of work and superb service is not regulated – and it’s what consumers are looking for. PHAB Service Stars is supported by industry experts so puts us in a different league – and is why consumers will respect this standard in the way that they respect Michelin stars in catering.”
A PHAB Service Star is valid for a year and is renewed by providing evidence of continued exceptional performance and delivery of service.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Nail, beauty and hair professionals who listen to their customer’s needs, solve their concerns, invite them back and deliver fantastic results with outstanding service, will ‘sail through the application process’, for a PHAB Service Star, reveals Nergish. “Individuals must maintain good customer records and must keep track of their performance because these will be required as evidence of their claims.”
