From Kim Kardashian’s chained nails to glittered cuticles: 2017 is no longer just about chrome, as new design ideas are pulling focus.
It seems to be that greys, soft pinks and neutral hues are hot on the wish lists of many clients and we can’t help but love how this has inspired marble-style nail art. Phone and laptop cases are paying homage to the marble trend – and it’s time for nails to follow suit.
Harriet Morrall of Harriet Morrall Beauty tried out the look after being inspired by a set by @priscillaonosalon.
Harriet used IBD JustGel colours in Whipped Cream, Patchwork, Black Lava and Ooh La Lace and a fine detailer brush to create the perfect marble manicure.
First, she painted fine lines with Black Lava diluted with cleanser over the cured based colour and uncured top coat. She repeated this step, again with cleanser on the brush, to help water down the lines down and produce the washed-out stone effect.
“I never normally opt for nail art as I am a fan of simplicity, however this look really caught my eye and, being a fan of marble print, I had to try it out,” Harriet comments.
“I post a lot of my beauty work over my social media business pages and straight away I had numerous clients messaging me saying how much they loved it.”
