Polymer £20 Note

The National Hair & Beauty Federation (NHBF) has issued a notice to beauty salons stating that the Bank of England will be introducing a new polymer £20 bank note from 20 February.

The design features British painter, JMW Turner, as well as two windows and a two-colour foil for the first time, making them difficult to counterfeit.

Members of the public will be able to continue using the paper £20 notes for their treatments, and these notes will be withdrawn from use when they’re banked. The Bank of England will give notice of six months before the paper notes are no longer legal tender.

2021 will see the introduction of a new £50 note, which will feature Alan Turing, who invented the Enigma machine used in World War Two.
