Industry veteran, Sue Davies, has launched Nabuno, an organisation that will aid course choices for learners and champions great education providers.
“Nabuno (pronounced na-boo-no) is a dedicated education website for the nail, hair and beauty industries,” reveals Sue, who scooped the Scratch Star for Services to the Nail Industry 2017. “Legitimate education providers can list their offerings and resources on the site to attract informed learners to their courses in addition to their own sites.
“There are multi-level options for these education providers to advertise their venues and courses, including integrated online booking systems to automate course management and ease admin duties.”
For learners, there is the opportunity to search for relevant courses depending on skill level, certification type and location in the knowledge that the education providers are checked. There is also a library of educational resources, online training programmes for anatomy & physiology and more.
“Nabuno is for the new learner, the skilled technician needing a new technique, the beauty therapist that wants to upskill, the salon owner that needs to train their team and the academy that wants more learners in their classes,” Sue continues.
“The intention is that Nabuno will be a market influencer for learners to gain the right information on industry education so that they can make informed decisions on their best route for the future career, whether they are new or experienced.”
Sue has been involved in education, salon ownership and with trade bodies and launched Nabuno while recovering from hand surgery. “I know how hard it is to get people involved in addressing issues surrounding poor standards and education.
“Nabuno will become not only a course and event listing opportunity, but somewhere our users can locate and share correct information and discuss and build a community for education within all fields of the health & beauty industry.”
