In the first of a series of events, nail expert Marian Newman, in partnership with Salon Services and Scratch, will open conversations on topics that will positively influence nail businesses.
The event, #NailTecTalk, has been launched as a response to nail techs feeling overwhelmed by the ever-changing business world. This can lead to feelings of isolation and being disheartened, so these conversations will help promote and grow business, while providing the confidence and support to empower them to run a successful nail business.
Pricing is an important part of running a successful business, therefore this topic will cover every aspect from pricing the real cost of products, overheads and charging what you are worth, to designing promotions and setting yourself apart from your competition.
The expert panel joining Marian includes: Lauren Murdoch-Smith, beauty editor of Vogue UK, Maria Cientanni, creative director & co-founder of Lecenté; Georgie Smedley, MD at Nail Harmony UK and Liza Smith, director of Liza Smith Ltd & Bodylines.
“The concept is to encourage nail professionals to listen to ‘real’ experts and not the self-designated ‘keyboard experts’ we see all over the internet!” explains Marian Newman. “This first event is a ‘conversation’ that is happening globally and is one that so many struggle with.
“Each one of these events will deal with a major issue that occurs in the nail industry. Issues such as employment, dealing with customers, product compliance, the dreaded ‘science’ word, career routes and education, all presented in a fun and interactive way.
“The event isn’t about brands, it’s about expert advice. Each panel member will have their own topic and present for 30-minutes and later there will be a facilitated Q&A session.”
