Day 2
Having never been on a cruise before, setting sail today was a new experience for all of us in our group.
We travelled from the hotel to the port in readiness to embark with anticipation and excitement. We felt much more at ease on arrival as we pulled up behind our nail buddies, Traci Dungan and Ami McClure of Profiles Backstage, an American nail supply company. The duo were able to show us the ropes.
We were surprised to find out that the process is much like an airport terminal, with our bags checked and weighed, as well as security scanning.
Once we’d all boarded, we spent a while making ourselves familiar with the vast facilities on the cruise liner, the Carnival Conquest. Of course, we then enjoyed a few cheeky cocktails, all the while getting to know the rest of our group.
We joined everyone for an evening meal, before heading off for an early night – ready for our first day of education tomorrow.
