The Nail Harmony UK Gelish Gala 2018 in Clacton-On-Sea last Friday offered a surprise launch for the industry.

The company’s director, Jason Smedley, took to the stage with brother, Mark Smedley, to present an exciting new project; Beauty Talk Radio (BTR).

Utilising the skills and experience of Mark Smedley, who has worked in the music and radio industry for many years, BTR will play music and deliver content that promises to be uplifting and relevant to the salon industry.

BTR is directed at beauty fanatics and industry professionals,” reveals Jason Smedley. “It will be a station that offers only good news; a happy station, offering positivity by connecting the listener with news worth hearing. There will be no irrelevant adverts or gossip, just relevant content for the beauty industry.”

Alongside music that can be streamed into the salon, listeners will be invited to suggest songs as well as listen to expert panelists discussing industry topics on subjects related to ‘what’s hot’, ‘what’s not’ and ‘what’s new’ on the beauty scene.

Aimed at anyone with a passion for beauty, this station will offer a wide variety of topics from brows and make-up to nails and skincare.

Offered currently as a soft launch, the station will officially launch on 1 August 2018 as an online station, moving to an app and eventually to DAB radio.

BTR will stream 24-hours a day, seven-days a week with talk shows primarily aired between 9am-5pm on weekdays.
