A BBC Three documentary following the lives of six British Vietnamese nail techs in Liverpool, titled Nail Bar Boys, has launched.
Astro, Little Kenny, Brandon, Bruno, Dragon and Big Tony run popular Liverpool nail salon, L1 Nails. With 34.2k Instagram followers at the time of writing, the ‘Nail Bar Boys’ are known for their comedic and bubbly personalities, as well as their strong family-like relationship.
The show will provide an insight into the daily lives of the men, who are in their twenties and thirties, as they paint nails and also tackle real-life issues like racism and addiction.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Brandon commented on the men’s career path:
“I speak on behalf of all of us, we were lost. We never really thought that when we grew up we were going to be nail technicians. We had no journey and no plans and yeah, we messed up in life. Nails found us.”
Nail Bar Boys is available to watch on BBC Three iPlayer and will be screened on BBC One North West on Tuesday 23 November at 7:30pm.
