Berlin based nail artist, Lisa Mård, has been announced as one of the British Fashion Council‘s 2021 New Wave: Creatives, a list of the 50 most innovative and inspiring young creative talents from around the world.
Voted for by the 2020 New Wave: Creatives lineup, the list features trailblazers from across multiple sectors, including hair and makeup artists, stylists, writers, set designers, images makers and artists, who hail from countries including the UK, US, China, Austria, Netherlands, Nigeria and Ghana.
Swedish born nailist, Lisa Mård, revealed the news on her Instagram page, commenting that she was “so honoured and happy”.
In an interview with Dazed Beauty in 2020, the nail artist described her beauty aesthetic as “amorphous, minimal, and a bit swampy”. Lisa’s mini nail sculptures are inspired by medieval objects, nature and witchcraft and use unconventional nail art materials and shapes to explore her identity, as well as the beauty in forms that aren’t traditionally conceived as beautiful.
The 2021 New Wave: Creatives will be celebrated during the British Fashion Council’s Fashion Awards 2021, held at the Royal Albert Hall, London on 29 November to commend the people and organisations who have led change in the fashion industry over the past year.
They will also benefit from a dedicated communications campaign, including international PR, year-round support across the British Fashion Council’s social media channels, and a portal on The Fashion Awards website where the fashion industry can recruit talent.
