Cnd Icon Metta

To celebrate 40 years of CND™ – and to honour the brand’s long-time fans, CND™ has brought back five of its most iconic shades, available for a limited time only.

The CND™ Iconic collection – featuring Company Red, Spike, Jiggy, Pointe Blanc and Satin Sheets available in Shellac only – celebrates classic style and sophistication, and is designed to ignite some cherished memories.

To celebrate this one-time launch, Sweet Squared, UK distributor of CND™, has unveiled a campaign in partnership with Scratch. It features Sweet Squared’s co-founders, Samantha & Samuel Sweet, on the front cover of the January 2020 edition, and photographs of industry professionals selected by Sweet Squared to present each colour. Here, we profile session stylist, Metta Francis…

MEET METTA FRANCIS

After setting up her own mobile nail business, Nails by Mets, in 2010, Metta has made her name a regular feature in magazine shoots and nail articles. Specialising in CND Shellac™ and Vinylux™ treatments, Metta has won the Scratch Stars Award for Mobile Nailist of the Year three times owing to her combination of excellent customer care and skill. She is a CND™ master painter and regularly leads shows at Fashion Week.

Metta gets ready for the Iconic campaign photo shoot

Metta discovered CND™ around nine years ago. “Everything about the brand screamed ‘quality’ and as a market leader, I knew I had to train with CND™,” she reveals. “I love its ethos; a focus on natural nailcare and the science behind the nails.

“CND™ training is so thorough and I knew at the start of my career journey that I didn’t want to take any shortcuts.”

Metta immerses herself in all facets of the nail industry, including competitions. She credits her most iconic moment as winning her first Scratch Star Award for Mobile Nailist of the Year. “It was amazing and overwhelming but it was also the reassurance that I was doing the right thing and I was on the right path,” she reveals. “I became known as an award-winning nail technician and it really helped to raise my profile and my reputation within the industry. That to me was an iconic moment.”
