The Spa at The Midland, a luxury city centre spa in Manchester, is now offering treatments to guests that are living with or recovering from cancer.

Beauty therapists were trained by Wellness for Cancer™, a non-profit educational foundation that provides cancer therapy training to spas and wellness facilities. In total, every beauty therapist at The Spa at The Midland undertook over sixty hours of extensive training each.

To mark this new venture, the spa has invited members of local cancer support groups and charities to tour the spa and meet Julie Bach, founder of the Wellness for Cancer™ organisation.

“Treating guests that are undergoing treatment for cancer has not always been easy and yet this is when they would benefit most from having a relaxing massage,” comments Helena Grzesk, spa director at The Spa at The Midland.

“Wellness for Cancer™ has enabled us to ensure that all our treatments are safe and relaxing for our clients and we’re just delighted that more people will be able to experience them.”
