Cancer support charity, Look Good Feel Better, has joined forces with England Netball to host a tournament to raise money for the charity, to continue improving the wellbeing of people living with cancer.
On Saturday 17 September at Warwick University, the event will give 30 netball teams from across the UK the chance to benefit from professional coaching and umpiring from England Netball, meet elite netball athletes and take home prizes.
In its fourth year, the tournament has raised over £121,000 since being founded in 2017, helping Look Good Feel Better to provide support to over 2,500 people living with cancer. The charity’s free workshops are led by trained volunteers in the beauty and health industries and provide practical advice about changes to skin, eyebrows, eyelashes, hair, nails and body confidence, as well as reduce feelings of isolation and anxiety.
“After an enforced two-year hiatus, we are thrilled that our popular charity netball tournament is back and in a fantastic new home,” comments Ian Daniels, director of fundraising at Look Good Feel Better. “Together with England Netball and Warwick University, we have been working hard to ensure this year’s tournament is the best yet. As well as raising vital funds for people living with cancer, we want to ensure all participating players and spectators have the best experience.”
Fran Connolly, England Netball CEO, adds: “We are proud to partner with Look Good Feel Better to continue such important work in both supporting and raising funds for those living with cancer. Bringing communities together through netball to help positively impact lives on and beyond the court is very powerful, and I am sure the event will be a great experience for all.”
Open to both experienced and amateur netball players, teams can register for the tournament here.
