Katie Barnes launches KB Educate nail education courses

Get excited – multi award-winning nail expert, Katie Barnes, has created expert education courses under the name of KB Educate. Courses are taught by experienced nail and beauty professionals, selected and trained by Katie herself, who has three Scratch Stars Awards to her name.

The courses are current, comprehensive, meet all national occupational standards, and are highly immersive and engaging, guiding nail techs through everything required to get the most out of their nail education and excel in their chosen areas. When the course is finished, techs will also receive feedback and post-course support.

Melanie Lewendon, head of education, Derby

Melanie has been a beauty therapist and nail tech for around 14 years and won awards in both fields. She is Katie’s educator for Derbyshire and head of education for the KB Training Academy. Melanie is the owner of the Be Inspired Online Education Platform and the Edumats brand of nail tech learning materials.

Erin Searle, educator, Fareham, Hampshire

Erin is an all-round experienced nail tech and educator and has excelled in various roles. She has progressed her career over the years from starting out at home and working mobile, to working alongside top nail brands. She now runs her own successful award-winning business – The Nail Lounge, Diamond Quay in Fareham, Hampshire.From her experience in the salon, Erin has recently created her own successful range of nail art brushes and is also a proud sub distributor of the KB Tool Range®.

Jo Duncan, educator, North London/Hertfordshire

Jo started in the nail and beauty industry in 2015 ago after being in the corporate industry for almost 20 years. Passionate about her role, she is dedicated to her job and provides education for KB Educate across North London and Hertfordshire.

Joy Dutson, educator, Gloucester

Jo is trained as an HD Brows Master Stylist, LVL Advanced Lash Lift Artist, Sienna X Waxing Specialist and nail styles. A keen learner, she is focused on her own CPD and advises nail students: “Do not compare your work to others – everyone learns at different paces, look back at your earlier nails, brows etc and compare yourself from then to now and see how far you’ve come.”
