Good news for nail art demos & collaborations – Instagram has added ‘practice mode’ and a scheduling tool to its live broadcast feature.

Ideal for advance promotion of your live – and keeping your followers in the loop about when you’re going to showcase new nail art designs or interview a person of interest, both features can be accessed on the Live page (swipe right on the home feed).

When the option to go Live is selected, users will be presented with a number of icons down the left hand side.

One icon allows the user to enter ‘Practice’ mode, to practice going live by themselves or with a guest to test the connection and light etc; ideal for collaborations and demos and to ensure the live runs as smoothly as possible. When all has been tested, the user can simply switch to ‘Public’ mode to go live to their audience.

The calendar icon offers the option to schedule upcoming IG Live broadcasts from 12 hours to 90 days in advance. This schedule option can include a title description and product tags and users will also be able to register for reminders, which will be sent to them the day before the broadcast, then 15 minutes before the stream begins.
