It’s time to pick up your nail tools and help fight blood cancer! The international non-profit organisation, DKMS, is inviting salons, technicians and clients alike to host a #LetsNailBloodCancer Party.
By lending your salon or set-up to a mani-pedi party for family, friends and colleagues, you can help raise funds to help register more potential blood stem cell donors.
It costs just £10 as a deposit per kit, which is refunded one your party has been held. Each fundraising kit also sees a vibrant nail lacquer from Barry M, official partner of the #LetsNailBloodCancer campaign, as well as a party planning guide and promotional materials, such as invites, information sheets and donation cards. The kit also see a box and signs for your nail desk during the party.
According to DKMS, every 20 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer, such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma. For many, a blood stem cell donation from a matching donor, will be their best chance of survival. However, 40% of patients in the UK who need a donation from an unrelated donor will not find a match. DKMS is working to register as many people as possible onto the UK aligned stem cell registry so that one day there will be a matching donor for every person in need.
