Scratch Stars Awards 2019 finalist, Hannah Missen, was on hand to lend her nail styling skills for a recent charity event, Leigh on Style – a fashion event at The Arlington Ballroom, in Leigh on Sea, Essex.

Working with brands to support local businesses, the charity catwalk show raised over £2,000 for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Never Far Away: Essex Campaign, an initiative aiming to provide accommodation for families with seriously ill children at the hospital.

With Hannah Smith and Carly Anne Scott assisting, Hannah Missen was tasked with creating the catwalk nail looks. “We created the designs for the models, co presenter and singer, Jazz Mino, to complement the outfits,” explains Hannah. “I created six different designs using CND™ shades Wildfire, Bare Chemise, Cream Puff and Blackpool.

“Samantha Sweet, of Sweet Squared, kindly donated 100 cuticle oils for the guest goodie bags and the new CND™ I Do collection for the raffle which went down a storm.

“The event ran smoothly and was a great success! It sold out and a substantial amount of money was raised.“I took part because I think it’s really important to collaborate with local businesses,” Hannah continues. “It’s amazing how many people came together to support such a fantastic cause. I feel very privileged to have worked on the show.”

The event’s creative team included:
Event organiser, presenter & stylist: Joey Bevan
Co presenter: Sarah Cawood
Hair: Spencer Silver
Make up: Rebecca Rhyther
Nails: Hannah Missen, with Hannah Smith & Carly Anne Scott
