The official charity of the hair industry has rebranded from The Hairdressers’ Charity to the Hair & Beauty Charity, supporting hair and beauty professionals in challenging times.
The charity has a heritage dating back to 1853, and the rename expands the charity’s visibility to incorporate the hair, barbering and beauty sectors. It relies on support from corporate sponsors (such as Salon Services, ASP and the NHF/NBF), as well as donations from the wider sector.
Co-president of Hair & Beauty Charity, Samantha Grocutt from Essence PR comments: “This rebrand is a natural progression for us since we became a nationally recognised charity in 2016. We have always supported those in the beauty and barbering industries and now it helps to clarify our focus.”
“Our mission is to help hair and beauty professionals in need,” comments ASP’s Philip Sharp, co-president of the Hair & Beauty Charity.
“We offer financial support to individuals and their families facing difficult times due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, bereavement and financial hardship.
“Our beneficiaries are supported with regular payments or one-off grants to make their lives a little easier.”
Fundraising is encouraged through salon activities, or by participating in one of the charity’s annual events such as a charity ball and bike ride. Scratch, as a new media supporter of the charity will be offering the chance to donate £1 to the charity when you sign up to an annual magazine subscription.
