Hair & Beauty Charity thanks industry for support in 2024

For over 150 years, the Hair & Beauty Charity has helped those in the hairdressing, barbering and beauty sectors who have fallen on hard times: offering practical and financial support.
Scratch is proud to be a media sponsor of the charity and its efforts, donating via a raffle at The Scratch Stars Party 2024 and offering magazine subscribers the option to add £1 at the checkout to be donated to the charity.
This year, a group of plucky bikers on the Hair & Beauty Charity Bike Ride took on 100km through the hills of Cyprus in 30-degree heat while raising money, with the annual Golf Day and Spa seeing golfers battling it out on the golf course. Partygoers danced the night away and toasted the sunset in central London with a team night out at the Summer Party.
Jayne Lewis-Orr, president of the Hair & Beauty Charity, shares a message of thanks to all who donated in 2024:
“This year has been hard for a lot of individuals and families in the hair and beauty industry, as they struggle due to unforeseen illness, accident, mental health issues or domestic violence. This has meant some have had to flee their home with their children for their safety. The Hair & Beauty Charity has seen some harrowing cases this year, but thanks to the generosity of manufacturers, wholesalers, salons and hair and beauty professionals working in our incredible industry, we have been able to help many of those who have reached out.
“2025 is going to be another tough year, but we need donations to carry on the work that we do. Whether it’s supporting an annual event, regular fundraising, donating stock or a one-off donation, every penny counts, and I want to pass on my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us this year.
“We are already planning some fundraising events for 2025, so keep an eye on our socials and I look forward to seeing you there!”
