According to research by The Accountancy Partnership, a quarter of pandemic-time hair and beauty treatment start-up owners are planning to hire one or more employees, setting to create more than 1,700 new beauty sector jobs in the coming months and years.

Although many lockdown businesses were born out of necessity, the research also reveals that the majority of pandemic entrepreneurs have exciting long term growth plans, indicating the value that the record number of new businesses will add to the industry.

More than seven in 10 (71%) hair and beauty treatment ‘lockdown-preneurs’ want to continually grow their businesses revenue and almost half (46%) want their business to become their sole source of income.

Also, one-in-four hair and beauty treatment business owners are planning to hire one or more employees, creating 1,770 jobs.
