Fragrance Direct has conducted research into the cost of training courses and starter kits for 60 popular beauty treatments along with the average price charged by UK professionals.
Research was undertaken by gathering prices of treatments from thebeautyacademy.org, britishbeautyacademy.co.uk and cosmeticcourses.co.uk among others.
According to the research, micro ring hair extension application is the treatment with the quickest profitability, as beauty professionals could make the money spent on training, insurance and starter kit costs back after providing just two treatments.
Semi-permanent makeup would make back the most money on average, as an eyebrow tattoo specialism could earn beauty therapists a gross income of £169,200 if they had 10 clients a week for 47 weeks.
The cheapest beauty treatment to train in was found to be reiki, an energy healing treatment, which costs £97 for training, insurance and a starter kit. The average gross earning per hour would be £37.20.
Findings showed that lash lift and tint treatment courses are the most expensive to train in, with the cost of training, insurance and starter kit being £3,682. Professionals would have to offer 102 treatments in order to pay off the cost.
Eyebrow threading has the lowest average treatment cost of £9.80, with a potential gross income per month based on 10 treatments a week being £392.
