The Nail Window Lead

Nail educator, Rachael Wilders, developed a handy nail art gadget in lockdown to help techs visualise and transfer designs to the nail.

The visual guide is used by placing the window over what you want to transfer – from fabric, a picture to a character or even your phone. It helps you to visualise the perspective and placement.

The middle point markers also make it easy to balance the nail, too.

Sold as set on a handy chain, the kit sees six popular nail shapes – seeing a guide for the professional to nail design flow, placement and layout, regardless of shape.

The idea came to Rachael during one of her classes, using the extra time of lockdown to perfect the design. “While teaching my classes, I used a technique where I ripped a piece of paper to create a ‘window’,” explains Rachael. “It enables students to visualise a design from everyday views, objects and patterns and transfer it to the nail.

“As a nail tech, create a completely unique design is an accolade. A student learning design with me, once joked that the window should be ‘a thing’.

“Fast forward to now, my husband, Dave, and I developed The Nail Window. We had help with a fantastic team of designers, who, during lockdown, we had plenty of spare time to work on the project.

“The Nail Window has a clean looking design with that all important glass clear centre.

My goal is for every nail tech to have the pride and confidence in themselves to create beautifully balanced and unique designs with the help of The Nail Window,” smiles Rachael.
