Dancing On Ice: Nail Designs – Week 6

Maddy Rooke, celebrity nail technician, reveals the backstage antics and nail looks from ITV’s Dancing On Ice…

Week 6 on Dancing On Ice saw the celebrities going through the time tunnel turning into their chosen characters. James Jordan became Fred Flintstone, Wes Nelson was a pirate, Saara Alto became Mary Queen of Scots and Melody Thorton transitioned into Cleopatra.

Melody’s nail look became my favourite as we took the Egyptian theme and featured blue and gold accents across the nails. I used the Salon System Gellux Clear Base and Top Coat under my chosen shades which is amazing for strength and longevity. The gold nails were created using The Gel Bottle Gel Polish in Vegas and the blue using Daily Charm Metallic Blue Chrome. This chrome comes in a variety of shades and worked so well with gold glitter which was used to create the Egyptian pattern on a couple of nails on each hand.

Pro skater, Vanessa, became a pirate to complement her Love Island partner, Wes. We chose Gellux in Black Onyx with Daily Charm Magic White Chrome on top for a gunmetal look to match her smoky eyes. Saara Alto wore Gellux in Girl Power;  a vibrant blood red with a touch of glitter, because all nails in showbiz need a touch of glitz!
