Dancing On Ice: Nail Designs – Week 4

Maddy Rooke, celebrity nail technician, reveals the backstage antics and nail looks from ITV’s Dancing On Ice…

Hi Scratch readers,

Another week has flown by with plenty more nail designs featuring on the skaters and celebrities at Dancing On Ice. Here, I’m highlighting my favourite two designs from week four.

First is  gorgeous pro skater, Alex Murphy. I created a black matte nail with a bronze/gold triangle in the centre of the nail.

I used the Salon System Gellux Black Onyx shade with Matte top coat on top. I applied the glitter after, which was a mix of iZ Beauty Glitters, and I then applied the Gellux Clear Base/Top Coat. Once mixed, I used my striping brush to paint on the triangles, which required a steady hand.

Secondly was the look created for pro skater, Vanessa Bauer. Her dress was an array of reds, greens and yellows so I decided to create a wacky nail design to match. For this look, I used the IBD JustGel Polish shades in Rocco, Lucky Red and Plum Raven to create a design over her Gellux Hard Gel enhancements. I mixed the shades together using my dotting tool to create a marbled effect.
