Dancing On Ice 1

Maddy Rooke, celebrity nail technician, reveals the backstage antics and nail looks from ITV’s Dancing On Ice

Hello Scratch readers!

This year I’m back to share all the glitz and glam that’s created behind the scenes at Dancing On Ice. From full glitter manis to intricate nail art the celebrities and skaters have been showing off some dazzling looks.

This week was musical week; my favourite! Didi Con was Mary Poppins, Gemma Collins was Marilyn Monroe and Saira Khan took to the ice as Nancy – and they all needed suitable mani’s to match their character and costume, so I couldn’t wait to get started!

So, what did I use on the celebs?

– Didi Con wore Bing Cherries from the IBD Just Gel Polish Range – this shade is practically perfect in every way!

– Saira Khan wore a custom-made colour using GELLUX in Tease Me and Black Tulip mixed with IZ Beauty in Wild Rose. (She had this on for the NTA’s this week too!)

– Saara Alto was inspired by Elsa from Frozen therefore a soft turquoise and holographic Chrome was a must. I used IBD Dublin or Nothing and the Daily Charm holographic flakes on top. This is one of my favourite effects!

– Last year’s winner, Vanessa Bauer, had a Hairspray theme. She had a yellow eye makeup design with pink accents in her dress so used the new GELLUX mini in Flirty Fuchsia and IBD Rocco to create an alternative to the classic white tips seen with French.

All gel manicures were created using the GELLUX Clear Base/Top Coat – my mani must-have!

We hope you enjoyed the show. Tune into my blog next week for more updates on what was used behind the scenes!
