Identical twin sisters, Nicola Simpson and Maria Hammond, celebrated the launch of their second salon premises, Tipz N Toez, with Dame Kelly Holmes and around 200 guests.
The retired athlete cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the new salon on Tonbridge High Street, Kent.
The move marks an 18-year goal to own a nail and beauty premises on Tonbridge High Street, as Nicola and Maria made their way into the beauty industry at the age of 17 providing a mobile nail service before opening their first salon in Tonbridge’s Avebury Avenue two years later.
The duo opened a second nail and beauty salon in Paddock Wood 11 years ago, which expanded quickly and led them to move to a bigger location, on Paddock Wood’s High Street, three and a half years later. This space currently houses four beauty rooms, a lash room, two pedi spa chairs, two HD Brows stations, five nail stations and a sunbed.
The salon on Tonbridge High Street boasts three large beauty rooms, two pedi chairs, two HD Brows stations, two lash stations, four nail stations and a stand up sunbed. Brands of joise include OPI, Sienna X, Elemis, Crystal Clear and HD Brows and Make-up.
The salon expansion sees help from life-long friend, Maria Belli, who is area manager of both Tipz N Toez premises. Dame Kelly Holmes has been a client of Tipz N Toez for some time, and made a short speech to congratulate Nicola and Maria on their success.
Attendees to the launch party received goody bags packed with Tipz N Toez branded products and the first 50 to arrive received a £10 treatment voucher.
“With bigger premises in both Paddock Wood and Tonbridge, we can now offer high end treatments such as permanent hair removal, oxygen therapy facials, semi-permanent make-up and more,” the duo comment.
“Looking to the future, we will be launching a training academy that will offer training courses in all beauty areas to help get more people into the industry, alongside continuing to offer apprenticeships that cover beauty and nail NVQ levels 2 and 3.
“Tipz N Toez will also be looking to open more salons in the future.”
