The Prime Minister’s roadmap to exit lockdown could see businesses given one week’s notice to reopen, as part of a four-part plan.

It has been reported that restrictions will be eased on a step-by-step basis across the whole of England, avoiding a return to the previous system of regional tiers.

The first stage of easing lockdown is to begin on 8 March, when schools reopen, and part two rumoured to be on 29 March.

If the four-part exit roadmap is successful, this could mean the four stages of the roadmap could be completed by late June.

According to government sources, there will be five weeks in between each stage of lockdown easing, allowing four weeks to analyse the latest coronavirus data, and one week to give notice to businesses allowed to open again.

Rumours suggest that hair & beauty salons will ‘stay shut until April’ but the PM is expected to confirm the reopening of non-essential businesses in his press conference to the nation later tonight.

Boris Johnson is due to announce his plan to the House of Commons this afternoon at 3:30pm (22 Feb), before leading a Downing Street news conference at 7pm.
