British make-up artist, Charlotte Tilbury, has been awarded the MBE accolade by The Queen.

The London-born celebrity artist and business woman has seen worldwide success with her eponymous beauty and skincare brand. Charlotte was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2018 in June for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry, and collected her award today.

“Today has been one of the most magical days of my life!” Charlotte Tilbury stated on her Instagram page. “I am so thrilled to receive this honour, especially from Her Majesty, the Queen who has been an endless source of inspiration to me!”

The honour of an MBE – Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – is awarded by the Queen and is given to individuals for different achievements, but often in recognition of community achievements or service in the community.

“I always knew that I wanted to create my own brand,” Charlotte previously stated in an interview with Scratch. “I started dreaming of it at school as a young girl. I would regularly give my friends makeovers and advise them on clothes to wear and the shades that suited their hair and eye colours. I was always helping them to feel the most beautiful version of themselves!”

Earlier this year, the brand revealed an exclusive Pro programme for professional make-up artists.
