Celebrity manicurist shares how to create Quinta Brunson’s glam Emmys nail look

Los Angeles played host to the 76th Emmy Awards on Sunday (15 September), which recognised excellence in the 2023-2024 television season.

American actress, comedian, writer, producer & Emmys nominee, Quinta Brunson – who is known for comedy series, Abbott Elementary, turned heads with an eye-catching manicure, created by Temeka Jackson of @customtnails1.

Described by Jackson as ‘classy, timeless Hollywood glam’, the sparkling style showcased all Aprés Nail products.

The nail artist has shared how pros can recreate the custom press-ons, as detailed below:

1. Select the size and shape of your Aprés Gel-X Extensions. Temeka revealed that Quinta Brunson loves the stiletto shape, so chose Gel-X Natural Stiletto Medium. 
2. Perfect the nail shape by filing to a sharp point.
3. Buff and clean with a lint-free wipe and acetone.
4. Add one coat of Aprés Light & Shadow Sheer Gel Couleur in Could’ve, Should’ve, Would’ve. Cure for 30 seconds in the Aprés Beta LED Nail Lamp.
5. Add a coat of Light & Shadow Sheer Gel Couleur in Girl Dinner. Cure for 30 seconds.
6. Using a thin art brush, add Aprés Gel Couleur in Birnam Wood on a dapping dish.
7. Create a thin design on the tips and cuticles using Aprés Artiste Gel Metallic Silver and Birnam Wood. Complete the design on all 10 fingers, curing for 45 seconds in the Beta LED Nail Lamp.
8. Apply one coat of Aprés Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat, curing for 45 seconds.
9. Add crystals with gem glue.
10. Apply two thin coats of Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat, curing each for 45 seconds.
