Happy Paul Kickstarter Wellbeing

Skincare and bodycare brand, Happy Paul, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the launch of two mood-lifting fragrance blends, aimed at making people smile.

The brand was founded by beauty comms director, Paul Gerrard, in September 2021, to support mental health through self-care and a smile. Gerrard, a lifelong sufferer of depression, has spent much of his life looking for happy in the wrong places. Happy Paul aims to change an ‘all or nothing’ approach to wellness, by creating mood-lifting fragrances and products that encourage simple, rewarding acts of self-care.

“For me, a smile is the most basic and yet dynamic form of self-care. It is restorative, transformative and can spread like wildfire.” – Paul Gerrard.

Prior to the launch of Happy Paul, Gerrard was introduced to the CEO of YoungMinds, a mental health charity for children, young people and their parents. Inspired by its work, Paul donates 10% of Happy Paul’s profits to the charity.

The Happy Paul portfolio features face and bodycare products, a body and hair wash, candle and fragrance. Gerrard hopes to add two mood-lifting fragrances to the range via Kickstarter funding.

Kickstarter offers an amazing opportunity for aspiring young brands to connect more intimately with their audience, offering rewards in return for the belief and backing of a project,” Paul explains. “For many brands, this can be priceless. It means that the brand is able to move more rapidly to bring an idea to life, while staying pure to its founding belief.”

Supporters of the campaign would be the first in line to receive the fragrances, as well as having exclusive access to Happy Paul offers.

Paul continues: “With Kickstarter, unless full funding is achieved, the brand receives nothing. That’s why the support of brand enthusiasts is critical.”
