Billie Faiers Kiss

We caught up with TV personality and reality star, Billie Faiers, after her recent appointment as the new brand ambassador for Kiss products…

How did your partnership with Kiss come about?
It all happened really naturally, I’ve always loved Kiss eyelashes and I’ve become such a fan of these nails now, especially the imPRESS range as it is just perfect for busy mums like me: they’re pre-glued so you can just put them on really quickly and go. I’ve also been wearing lashes for years now and Kiss’ ranges are amazing quality and the styles are so varied.

How does it feel to be announced as brand ambassador for Kiss?
Amazing! I’ve never worked for a company like Kiss so it’s just really nice and it’s something totally different for me; I’m used to working a lot with mummy and baby products, so its just so lovely to do something like this. It’s perfect because it’s completely genuine – I love my lashes and nails!

How are you going to balance your career and being a busy mum with this new beauty venture?
I always manage to find a good work-life balance. I’m really busy and there are some weeks, particularly recently, that have been even busier than others but the kids are always my number one priority so I just make sure that I’m organised. My fiancé, Greg, isn’t so busy at work at the moment so he’s able to take time off and be with the kids if I’m not there, my mum helps out and the kids go to nursery for a couple of days a week. I love challenging myself and this opportunity, working with such a lovely company, is amazing.

What do you love about Kiss nail products?
Personally, the imPRESS range is just so easy, quick and can change your entire look in an instant. Because I’m a mum, I don’t go for long, dramatic nail looks day-to-day but on a day when I’m child-free it’s so lovely to experiment and have longer, pointy nails: I feel so glam and I can’t stop emphasising my hands! The nails are amazing quality and there are so many styles, it’s just a really great way of changing up your look really quickly.

Who do you think Kiss nail products suit?
I really do think there’s something for everyone. They do subtle designs, plain colours, or really funky ones. Let’s say you were going to a festival for the weekend and you wanted to change it up, you could do something really out-there that would last for the few days you wanted it to. There’s also glitter designs, which is handy as we’re coming up to Christmas and people will be having their Christmas parties, for example. There is something for everyone in every scenario.

What do your friends and family think of Kiss nails and lashes?
I’ve sent my mum and sister a picture of my nails before and they love it because they never see me with long nails. My sister really loves them and even wants a set to wear on my hen do!

What’s your favourite beauty treatment?
I love a manicure and a pedicure. The only thing that I would really treat myself to on a monthly basis is a mani-pedi, but I do love a massage as well.

Why do you love getting a manicure/pedicure?
Getting your nails done always makes you feel better! If I’ve got chipped nails or if they just aren’t done, I feel scruffy – I can’t bear it. My nails are the number one thing that I always make sure I take care of.

What is your daily beauty routine?
In the morning, I always wash and exfoliate my face in the shower and wear face and eye moisturiser. At night, I would take my make-up off with a face wipe but then also use micellar water. I then use an exfoliator again in the shower and it really makes such a difference. I love a face mask as well and I probably do one around twice a week. I know it sounds silly but, for mums, really quick at-home treatments can make you feel so much better. I also love a hair mask!

Throughout your career, what is the number one beauty tip that you’ve picked up?
Less is more sometimes. When you’re on a photo shoot and you’re having your photo taken it’s different, but I think on an everyday basis you don’t always want that full glam. Especially when it comes to fake tan: I don’t actually use fake tan that much anymore, however I’ve seen pictures of me from the past where I’m bright orange and I’ve got white blonde hair… I just think, ‘What was I doing?!’ Applying lashes properly is something I’ve learnt: my tip would be to measure it against your eye and cut off from the end of the lash. I then glue it and let it dry for about 30 seconds to a minute before using a cotton bud to poke it on to my eye.
