British Beauty Council to host British Beauty Weekend 29-31 October

The British Beauty Council and Covent Garden is hosting the British Beauty Weekend in a bid to support the industry during challenging times. This three-day event, starting 29 October, will explore careers and innovations in the beauty industry, offer insights from leading companies such as WGSN, British Growth Fund and Facebook, and offer advice from a host of leading experts while getting a taster of what’s to come in 2021.
This three-day event will begin with a series of inspiring virtual panels followed by a day of activity on Instagram.
The British Beauty Weekend is hosted in conjunction with the British Beauty Council’s patron, Covent Garden. Guests need to sign up to attend this event. Click here to register your attendance.
- Thursday 29 October
12pm–12.30pm – Post-Pandemic Beauty: Why Safe Beauty is the New Clean Beauty
British Beauty Council patron, WGSN hosts an in depth look at how consumer needs are adapting to a ‘new normal’, prioritising antibacterial, antiviral and immunity-boosting actives in a post-Covid-19 world. Join its beauty director, Jenni Middleton to discover how to adapt your business plan, prioritising personal safety and hygiene for all beauty products and services.
2pm–3pm – Careers: Smashing Stereotypes in Science & Beauty – Education Pillar
British Science Association will host an event exploring the careers of some of the country’s leading cosmetic scientists. This expert panel will discuss cosmetic science and the stereotypes that surround the science and cosmetics industries.
6pm–6.30pm – The Future of Beauty Commerce, from E-commerce to Discovery Commerce
Hosted by Facebook, this session focuses on a new approach to marketing in the digital era, focusing on a consumer journey that starts well before intent. Even more relevant now as we re-emerge from COVID-19 and people are spending less time browsing in stores – Discovery Commerce opens up new sources of demand for businesses and delights consumers with products and services they will love.
• Friday 30 October
10am–11am – Careers: How to become a brand
British Beauty Council’s president of pillar, education, Elizabeth Barnett-Lawton talks to a panel of industry experts and leaders about their careers in beauty and advice for upcoming beauty brands and creators.
1pm–2pm – Creativity out of Covid – Supporting British Beauty – Innovation Pillar
Hosted by Jo Jones, co-founder of Beauty Banks. This panel will celebrate and support British beauty, offering advice and guidance for brand owners and innovators starting out on their brand journey. Joined by BGF.
6pm–7pm – The Future of Hair Webinar
Supported by British Beauty patron Babyliss Pro and moderated by The Telegraph’s Sonia Haria. This session explores the hair trends and innovations of 2021. The creativity and resilience of hairdressers over the last six months has been remarkable; at this event leading experts discuss what they think will be the future of the hair industry and what salon owners and hair stylists can expect.
