App launches using virtual reality to try nail shades

A newly launched app is offering nailistas the chance to try out nail shades using augmented reality technology.

Wanna Nails offers users the chance to try on polish before your manicure by using their phone’s camera. Users can snap a picture of their hand and the app detects fingernails to polish, changing colour as you  scroll through and ‘try on’ the ever-growing collection of polishes currently on the app.

While in the app, you can explore and change colours, trying on different shades to match mood and skin tone. Users also have the option to click through and purchase polishes they like the look of. The app allows you to send and share your virtual manicure across social media for a second opinion.

The app currently appears to only support American shopping sites at present and is available for iOS for Apple devices.
