Paint Nails

On the 6 August 2021, Bournemouth-based nail professional Lauren McBride of Get Nailed, will attempt to set the record for the Longest Artificial Nail Painting Marathon for The Guinness Book of Records.

An exciting proposition, Lauren reveals just what she’s trying to achieve during the event. “My aim is to paint a minimum of 60 nails per hour for a minimum of 24-hours,” Lauren asserts. “Although I’m aiming for a full blown 72-hours with no sleep, equating to painting 4320 nails.”

Going LIVE at 9am (marathon starts 10am) on the 6 August, Lauren is hoping her supporters will jump on the @Get Nailed by Lauren McBride Facebook page and watch her progress during the challenge.

Not in this for the love of nails alone, Lauren is motivated by a serious cause. “I’m asking friends and colleagues across the industry to kindly show their support and make a donation to the JustGiving page below,” she alerts. “This is going to be a fundraising event for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in memory of Tiffany Andrews. Tiffany tragically lost her life at the age of 15 to the horrendous condition known as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). Tiffany suffered a massive heart attack on a healthy heart and was taken far too soon! This sadly happens to 12 young adults a week in the UK and the organisation, CRY not only helps with research and testing into this disease, but also offers support to the families affected while also raising awareness!
“I want to do everything I can to help raise awareness and money to help CRY to continue its invaluable work.

“The more money and awareness we can generate together, the more CRY can save young lives and make a difference! TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
So let’s make this an event to remember, raise awareness and most importantly save lives!”
