NEW ONLINE NAIL ART CONTEST!
Showcase your skills and creativity and see your profile soar, in Season 1 of North America's Star Nail Artist!
Open to nail professionals of all levels across North America, including educators and brand ambassadors, the contest serves up seven design challenges over seven months. Shortlisted artists will be tasked with showcasing their handiwork in the bid to win a cash prize and incredible opportunities.
What could you win?
The winner will be crowned North America's Star Nail Artist 2024 Winner and will receive a Scratch cover opportunity and 12-month column series in the magazine! There is also a cash prize for the top three.
All shortlisted pros will also receive a profile page on the Scratch website, be featured regularly across Scratch's social media channels, and receive product from our sponsors to incorporate into the challenges. Develop and exercise your creativity, refine your nail and video skills, embrace a community of sensational nail artists and try new techniques and nail styles, with this fantastic competition!
The requirements: You need to have held your nail licence/a recognised nail qualification for at least 12 months – since July 1, 2023 or earlier – AND live and work in the USA, Canada, Mexico or Greenland.

HOW IT WORKS
Stage 1: Online entry open
1 JULY - 31 AUGUST 2024
Stage 2: Shortlisting takes place & shortlisted announced
1 - 17 SEPTEMBER WITH ANNOUNCEMENT ON 23 SEPTEMBER
The judging team (comprising sponsors, the Scratch team and esteemed nail professionals) will review all entries and announce a shortlist - and the fun begins!
Stage 3: Monthly challenges commence
FROM 1 OCTOBER 2024
Each challenge is set by one of our amazing sponsors, who’ll detail a nail task that artists will have around 10 days to complete. Challenges are designed to exercise creativity and showcase incredible skill and after the entries are judged, the artists through to the next challenge will be revealed, as well as who needs to fight for their place in the contest. These fighters will need to complete an additional, shorter challenge, before it’ll be decided who stays for the next challenge and who’s eliminated from the competition.
Stage 4: Winner reveal
1 JUNE 2025
The top three nail artists in the competition will be flown to Orlando to meet sponsors, take part in photo calls and complete a final task – before we’ll reconvene at The Scratch Social event to announce the winner. The top 3 will each receive a cash prize and see their profiles raised across the sector, while the winner will take home a stunning trophy and be given some huge opportunities in their role as North America’s Star Nail Artist.
