How to create shamrock nail art for St. Patrick’s Day

Seasonal & Occasions, Step by Step
Named after the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday, held annually on 17 March to celebrate Irish heritage.
Nail artist & educator, Julie-Anne Larivière, reveals how to create this shamrock design in time for the occasion.

Step 1

Prep the nails. Apply a pink base coat and cure.
Step 2

Apply a gold gel polish to the tip and up the left side of each nail. Cure.
Step 3

Paint a shamrock at the tip of each nail using a green gel polish and cure. You can do this by using a small dotting tool to create six dots: two at the top, two on the left and two on the right. With a fine detail brush, join the dots to create three heart shapes. Join these in the centre and add a small stem.
Step 4

Paint a second shamrock on the left-hand side of each nail, using the green gel polish and following the previous step.
Step 5

Apply top coat and cure, then apply cuticle oil to finish.
