Nail tutorial: chrome hearts design for Valentine’s Day
Seasonal & Occasions, Step by Step
Holly Morris-Last of Hollystic Nails, Lancashire, shares how she created this love-ly chrome style for Valentine’s Day.
Step 1
Prep the nail and apply your chosen milky white base. I used INK London's Flubber Builder Base in Off White.
Step 2
Remove the tacky layer and lightly buff the shine from the nail to leave a smooth, matte surface.
Step 3
Paint three heart shapes (large, medium and small going up the nail) in a no wipe black art gel and cure. I used Brillbird Brush & Go Colour Gel in GO2.
Step 4
Buff red chrome powder into the black hearts and dust off any excess.
Step 5
Using a fine liner brush, paint delicate arched lines around the hearts using the no wipe black art gel. I used INK London's Pro Art Series Michelangelo brush for this.
Step 6
Continue painting the lines randomly until you've covered the entire nail, and cure.
Step 7
Buff gold chrome powder into the black line work and dust off any excess. Apply your chosen no wipe top coat and cure for 60 seconds. I used INK London's The Ultimate No Wipe Top Coat.
