Step by Step
London-based nail stylist and avid competitor, Andreea Simona Ignat, reveals how to perfect a timeless baby boomer style.
Step 1
Prep the nails for enhancements and file the free edge. Buff the surface of the nail with a 180 or 240-grit buffer and remove dust with a dust brush. Fir the nail form and apply Jana Nails Magic Airbond 3 in 1 followed by Ultra Sticky Acid-Free Nail Primer. Allow the primer to air-dry for two minutes.
Step 2
Apply a very thin layer of Base UV Gel in Miracle Pink and cure for one minute. Using the AcryGel Double Brush, take a pea-sized amount of AcryGel in Milky White and apply closely to the free edfe. Work the product to create a faded effect towards the middle of the nail, creating the extension shape on the nail form. I chose a classic almond shape. Cure for one minute when happy with the result.
Step 3
Next, take a pea-sized amount of AcryGel in Milky Pink and apply on the faded area at the middle to the cuticle area of the nail. Work from the cuticle area up to the free edge and cure for one minute.
Step 4
Remove the form and the inhibition layer from the surface of the AcryGel using a nail cleanser and lint-free wipe.
Step 5
Buff the surface of the nails and shape to refine using a 180-grit file.
Step 6
Apply Non Sticky Top Coat and add design details where desired. I create a flower using Plastilline Gel and added Swarovski crystals from www.angel-crystals.co.uk.
