Abstract Leaves Step By Step 5

Spring/Summer, Step by Step

Salon System nail expert, Julie-Anne Lariviére, has created an abstract leaves design using her new GELLUX Free Spirit collaboration shades…

“My biggest inspiration for this collection was my home country, Canada,” Julie-Anne explains. “I’ve always said that if I could have a collection, it would have something to do with my home.

“Whilst I had to keep to a free spirited theme, they were subtly named after things that reminded me of where I come from. The collection is bright, bold and fun as colours like these bring me joy!”

Step 1
Prepare nails by pushing back cuticles, trimming excess, shaping the free edge, and buffing the nail plate with a white block. Dust well and wipe thoroughly with GELLUX Nail+File Spray. Apply GELLUX Fast Bond, let dry for 30 seconds then apply one coat of GELLUX Cover Pink Base, cure for 60 seconds in between layers.
Step 2
Using a liner brush, apply random wavey patches using GELLUX Go with The Flow on the side of the little, index fingers and thumb. Then patches on the centre tip of the middle and ring fingers using GELLUX Free Spirit and GELLUX Be A-Maize-ing shades. Cure for 30 seconds.
Step 3
With a fine liner dipped in GELLUX Maple Dreams Come True, paint the stem on the middle and ring fingers. Cure.
Step 4
Dip again in GELLUX Maple Dreams Come True to create the leaves, then cure.
Step 5
Finish with GELLUX Matte Base/Top making sure to cap the edges and cure. Wipe residue with GELLUX Prep & Wipe and finish with cuticle oil.
